India's Curriculum: Reviving Glorious Heritage and Resilience

India's education system must include the study of its glorious past in history curriculum because this fosters national pride, cultural identity, and awareness of the nation's rich heritage.

Ancient India was a beacon of civilization, known for its vast resources, flourishing trade, monumental cultural achievements, and visionary leadership by powerful kings and women who contributed significantly to the nation's prosperity and strength. Teaching this heritage highlights India's contributions in administration, military strategy, science, medicine, mathematics, and the arts, all of which shaped global history.

Foreign invasions over centuries—by Greeks, Persians, Turks, Mughals, and the British—sought to exploit and disrupt India’s unity and wealth. These invasions often systematically aimed to undermine indigenous knowledge and institutions.

Despite these attempts, India repeatedly rose from the ashes, reviving and advancing its ancient sciences and knowledge. Incorporating this history and ancient knowledge into education enables students to appreciate the resilience and intellect of their ancestors and applies classical Indian wisdom to inspire innovation and exploration in modern inventions and scientific feats.

Prominent figures like Samudragupta's empire expansion, Ashoka’s humanitarian governance, and the maritime dominance of the Chola dynasty illustrate the heights of Indian achievement. The legacy of leaders like Maharana Pratap and women warriors such as Rani Lakshmi Bai symbolizes resistance and empowerment against foreign domination. Today's education that emphasizes these narratives helps restore cultural confidence, counter colonial-era distortions, and encourages Indians to reclaim and celebrate their historical greatness responsibly
